Description These collectable Australian Stamps are also known as The Spirit of a Nation  Two Centuries of Achievement collection. This set of The Australian Collection contains twenty-five gold-plated solid sterling silver stamps. Identical in size to it's original, each proof quality gilded silver stamp is a substantial 2.2 mm thick. It was issued under the authority of Australia Post by Hallmark Diemasters & Engravers Pty. Limited, and was limited to 10,000 sets, of which this is set number 5605. They have been struck in solid sterling silver, plated with 24 carat gold. Each one in the set is a replica of the original stamp. I think they were released in 1988 to coincide with our Bicentenary but can't remember for sure about this. Comes with it's own Certificate of Authenticity, and is in it's own handmade Leather Presentation Case with gold embossing and is lockable. The outside of the case shows a bit of wear in a few places, nothing to bad though and the stamps inside have never been handled so condition is excellent. It also had a collector's Edition of "Spirit of a Nation" book with it but at the moment I haven't found it, but if someone wins it I will post it off to them when I have found it at my expense.
