The Hoover catalog of the same stamps is $2597.68. (Selling price usually varies from 5 to 10 times Hoover, or up to $25976.80.) 295 classic stamps are not listed in Hoover or PSS Classic. Very high catalog in the unlisted Stamps. NOTES: The PSS Catalog is based as a multiple of Hoover, however, sometimes the value listed is less than the PSS Type value, which would override. Examples: Sherman NY is $1 in PSS Classic and $125 in PSS Type Catalog. Milton MA, $12, and $60 in Type catalog, East Clarendon VT, $12 to $16, and $25 in Type catalog, and St. Augustine, FL, $12 and $60 in Type Catalog. All of these are in the collection, with many more examples. 32 of the stamps are priced in the PSS Classic Catalog from $100 to $200. As in the Sherman NY above, many of the precancels are known today, but not when the Hoover catalog was made, (1940).
